Daria Boduljak will represent Croatia at the 2026 JJIF World No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu Championships. She will compete in the Adult -70 kg division and will become the first member of Ju-Jitsu Club Mizfits to earn a place on the Croatian national team. The championship takes place on Saturday, 22 August 2026, at the Krešimir Ćosić Sports Hall in Zadar.

How did Daria Boduljak earn her place on the Croatian national team?

Daria earned her place through exceptional commitment and steady progress, backed by her results so far. The coaches see how seriously she works in every session. Daria listens, fixes small details, takes on hard rounds and returns to the mat with the same appetite to learn.

She has also gained competition experience at major Croatian tournaments. Each trip to the competition mat taught her something new, and Daria brought those lessons back to the academy and turned them into better training.

What does Daria’s selection mean for Ju-Jitsu Club Mizfits?

This is the first national team appearance in Mizfits history. The club was accepted into the Croatian Ju-Jitsu Federation in October 2024 (article in Croatian). Less than two years later, Mizfits has its first athlete on the Croatian national team.

Daria reached the national team through months of training, hard sparring, competitions and the quiet return to training after every event. She has done the work, day after day. That is why the coaches and the whole club are so proud of what she has achieved.

When and where are the 2026 JJIF World No-Gi Championships?

The World Championships take place on 22 August 2026 at Višnjik Sports Centre, Krešimir Ćosić Sports Hall, Splitska ulica 3, Zadar. It is an international ranking event held under the rules of the Ju-Jitsu International Federation. The Croatian Ju-Jitsu Federation is the organising federation.

The official weigh-in is scheduled for Friday, 21 August, from 17:00 to 19:00. The draw follows from 20:00 to 21:00. Competition for the U21, Adult and Masters divisions begins at 09:00 on Saturday, with category start times to be published separately by the organiser.

All of Mizfits is behind Daria

Every match at a world championship begins at zero. We believe in Daria’s work and fighting spirit. We know how much she has put into this event, and we believe she can achieve a result that will make Daria, the Croatian national team, her coaches and all of Mizfits proud.

Daria, enjoy the moment you have earned. Croatia on your chest, Mizfits beside you. OSS!

Mizfits won the 2nd Humanitarian Grappling Marathon in Zadar. A storm stopped the marathon after 30 rounds. Nikola Ercegović, Aljoša “Zip” Grassi and Ivo “Frusta” Vatavuk completed every round. Mizfits had the most representatives on the mat, so the organizers declared our team the winner of the marathon.

Thirty rounds before the storm stopped the marathon

Everything at Kolovare stopped when the weather became too rough to continue. Nikola, Zip and Frusta had stayed in the rhythm from the first round to the last. Thirty rounds is serious work, especially outdoors, where the pace gets harder as the marathon goes on.

Mizfits had the biggest team on the mat

We travelled to Zadar with a full team, as we announced in our preview of the 2nd Humanitarian Grappling Marathon. Our numbers on the mat settled the organizers’ decision, and the win went to Mizfits. The linked article is in Croatian.

The marathon raised funds for the Svjetlo Association, which helps people with intellectual disabilities. Events like this bring clubs together in a good way. You get rounds in and help someone who needs it.

At the first edition in 2024, Marko Volarević, Duje Dobronić and Ivo Vatavuk completed 12, 28 and 34 rounds. We wrote about that day in our report from the first Humanitarian Grappling Marathon in Zadar. That article is also in Croatian. This year, Mizfits comes home with a team win. OSS!

Ju-Jitsu Club Mizfits will take part in the 2nd Humanitarian Grappling Marathon on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 5 p.m. The event will be held on the basketball court by the Kolovare swimming pool in Zadar. Eight Mizfits representatives will step onto the mat, and all donations will go to the Svjetlo Association, which helps people with intellectual disabilities.

When and where is the 2nd Humanitarian Grappling Marathon?

The marathon starts at 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2026, on the basketball court next to the Kolovare swimming pool in Zadar. Ju Jitsu Club Zadar is organizing the event, and the number of places is limited. Registration and further information are available through the organizer’s registration form.

Kolovare worked well for the first marathon. An outdoor mat and a crowd gathered for the same cause gave the event a feeling that is hard to recreate inside a regular sports hall.

What happened at the first Grappling Marathon in 2024?

The first Humanitarian Grappling Marathon was held at Kolovare on July 7, 2024. All participants stepped onto the mat at the same time, chose partners at random and rolled for five-minute rounds with one minute of rest. Anyone unable to start the next round left the marathon.

According to Slobodna Dalmacija’s report, the marathon lasted more than four hours. Luka Vuksan from Zadar and Jan Stach from Brno were the final two athletes on the mat, while three women also joined the field. Croatian news site 023.hr documented the first humanitarian marathon and the rules used that evening.

Marko Volarević, Duje Dobronić and Ivo Vatavuk represented Mizfits in 2024. Marko completed 12 rounds, Duje completed 28, and Ivo reached 34 rounds, or 170 minutes of rolling. Ivo was among the last eight athletes left on the mat. More details are available in our 2024 Humanitarian Grappling Marathon report, while our original event announcement explains how the story began. Both articles are in Croatian.

Who will represent Mizfits in Zadar in 2026?

Eight members of the Mizfits team are heading to the second marathon:

Frane Mišetić

Aljoša “Zip” Grassi

Ivan Bosančić

Nikola Ercegović

Daria Boduljak

Andrija Košta

Ivan Perković

Ivo “Frusta” Vatavuk

We are going to Zadar to get in good, safe rounds and help the Svjetlo Association. After competing at ADCC Croatia Open 2026 in Zadar, the team is returning to the city for a shared training session and a fundraiser.

Who will receive the donations?

Donations from the 2nd Humanitarian Grappling Marathon will go to the Svjetlo Association, which helps people with intellectual disabilities. The first marathon also raised money for Svjetlo. Grapplers from different clubs came together for the cause, and people watching at Kolovare got a close look at the sport.

After the first marathon, Ju Jitsu Club Zadar said it wanted to organize more events like it. The second edition arrives two years later, with a larger Mizfits team ready to take part.

How can I register for the Grappling Marathon in Zadar?

Places are limited, so participants need to register in advance through the official form for the 2nd Humanitarian Grappling Marathon. Check the organizer’s current rules and arrival time before travelling to Kolovare.

We invite friends of the club and anyone who wants to back the fundraiser to join us at Kolovare on July 26. See you in Zadar.

Ju-Jitsu Club Mizfits will compete at ADCC Croatia Open 2026 on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Kresimir Cosic Sports Hall in Zadar. Registration closed on June 30, so the job now is simple: make weight, listen to the rules meeting and fight under ADCC rules.

Six Mizfits competitors are registered, with Ivo Vatavuk coaching from the side of the mat. For the club, this is another serious no-gi weekend and a return to a venue that already gave us a proper competition story last year. In 2025, Mizfits competed at ADCC Croatia Open 2025 in Zadar and came home with three medals for Mizfits.

Who is competing for Mizfits at ADCC Croatia Open 2026?

Mizfits is bringing athletes across adult beginner divisions and the boys 15 to 18 divisions. All competitors are registered under Ju-Jitsu Club Mizfits and the Mavericks Jiu Jitsu affiliation.

Marin Vidan, Men Beginner, -70 kg

Nikola Ercegović, Men Beginner, -76 kg

Ante Zekan, Men Beginner, +100 kg

Daria Boduljak, Women Beginner, -70 kg

Luka Elez, Boys 15-18 yrs, -65 kg

Andrija Košta, Boys 15-18 yrs, -70 kg

Ivo Vatavuk, coach 18+

This young Mizfits group will be especially good to watch in an ADCC setting. Daria Boduljak, Luka Elez and Andrija Košta already have competition experience, and ADCC rules have a funny way of showing what habits are really there. You find out fast. A scramble, a bad grip, two seconds of hesitation, and suddenly the match has changed shape.

Where is ADCC Croatia Open 2026 held?

ADCC Croatia Open 2026 takes place at Kresimir Cosic Sports Hall, Splitska ulica 3, Zadar. The venue is available on Google Maps, and entry for spectators is free. Doors open one hour before the competition.

For people who can’t make the trip to Zadar, the organizer has announced a livestream. Official event details are listed on the Smoothcomp page for ADCC Croatia Open 2026, and the rules can be checked through the official ADCC rules documents.

Why is this tournament a good test for the team?

ADCC rules ask different questions than standard BJJ scoring. Wrestling entries matter. So do control, back takes, guard passing and submission threat. For beginner adults, that makes the match feel honest and a little uncomfortable. For younger athletes, it tests something even more useful: whether they can stay calm when the first scramble gets messy.

Mizfits has been putting regular work into no-gi training, competition rounds and a plain approach to grappling. Anyone who wants to start from zero can check our English page for visitors and new members at Mizfits BJJ Academy Split. You can also read more about the club joining the Mavericks Jiu Jitsu affiliation.

See you in Zadar

The team is registered, the brackets are filling up, and the last training sessions are there to sharpen the small things. Marin, Nikola, Ante, Daria, Luka and Andrija will carry Mizfits onto the mat, with Ivo in the coaching corner.

Good luck to everyone. No politics, just Jiu Jitsu. OSS!

The 2026 summer belt promotions at Mizfits were held on Monday, 22.06.2026, starting at 19:00 in the Ju-Jitsu Club Mizfits training space. Along with stripe promotions, the club also held a student belt grading under the rules of the Croatian Ju-Jitsu Federation, and 12 members were successfully promoted to a higher belt.

Who received a new belt?

The grading committee, Ivo Vatavuk, Aljoša Grassi and Nikola Pogačar, made a unanimous decision that the candidates had passed successfully and earned the following student belts:

Ivan Bosančić – brown belt

Frane Mišetić – brown belt

Denis Kapetanović – brown belt

Nikola Čarapina – purple belt

Duje Dobronić – purple belt

Andrea Bilić – blue belt

Mateo Bilođerić – blue belt

Vice Radonić – blue belt

Ante Zekan – blue belt

Luka Elez – blue belt

Andrija Košta – blue belt

Nikola Ercegović – blue belt

What did the candidates show during the grading?

During the grading, the candidates showed knowledge across the areas included in the Croatian Ju-Jitsu Federation student belt system: theory, breakfalls, throws, defenses from control positions, guard passing, sweeps, joint locks, escapes from joint locks, self-defense and a display of sparring.

On paper, that sounds neat and official. On the mats, of course, it feels much more alive: partners, nerves, sweat, small mistakes and the moment when you have to stay calm while someone is actively working against you. That is where you can see the difference between a technique someone has learned and a technique they can actually use.

Stripe promotions are part of the same path

Along with the new belts, Mizfits also held stripe promotions. We will not list each stripe promotion individually, but they deserve a mention because a stripe in BJJ often means exactly what members need most: proof that the work is being seen, even when the next belt is still far away.

From the first promotions at the club until today, the idea has stayed the same. A belt or a stripe is not decoration. It is a mark of work built up through training sessions, sparring rounds, competitions, seminars and ordinary days when someone shows up and does the work.

A good mid-season checkpoint in the new academy

Summer promotions are a good checkpoint in the season. Last year we published the 2025 summer promotion results, and this year we are keeping the same rhythm in the new academy at 114. brigade 12 in Split. More mat space, more people training and one more page in the club’s story.

Congratulations to everyone who received a new belt, everyone who received a stripe and everyone who was part of the evening. A special thank you goes to the training partners, because without them there is no grading, no progress and no feeling that the club is moving as one team.

If you are reading this and thinking about your first training session, the best moment is usually much more ordinary than people imagine. You show up, put on a gi or a training shirt and start slowly. For a first step, you can check our open enrollment information, and for directions to the academy there is the Mizfits visit us page.

Congratulations once again to the whole team. See you at the next training session. 0% politics, 100% Jiu Jitsu.

Looking for drop-in BJJ in Split while you are on holiday, passing through Dalmatia or staying in Croatia for a few weeks? Mizfits Jiu Jitsu & Grappling Academy welcomes visiting BJJ and grappling practitioners at 114. brigade 12 in Split. Message us before you come, bring your training gear, and we’ll help you find the right session for your level.

Can visitors join BJJ and grappling classes at Mizfits in Split?

Yes. Visitors can join BJJ and grappling sessions at Mizfits, as long as they contact the academy before training. Drop-ins are welcome for people who already train, whether you are travelling alone, visiting Split with friends or trying to keep your mat time alive between beach days.

The easiest way to arrange a visit is to contact Ivo on +385 91 616 0880. Tell us your experience level, whether you prefer Gi or No-Gi, and when you are in town. Split is busy in summer, and class rhythm can change around holidays, seminars and competition weeks. A quick message saves everyone guesswork.

If this is your first time visiting the academy, you can also check the Mizfits visit us page for basic directions and club information.

What kind of training can you expect from a Mizfits drop-in session?

A Mizfits drop-in session is real training, not a tourist photo stop. Expect technical work, positional rounds and live grappling with a local team that takes the sport seriously without turning the room into an ego contest. The club motto says it plainly: 0% politics, 100% Jiu Jitsu.

Mizfits is a Jiu Jitsu and grappling academy in Split led by head coach Ivo Vatavuk, a BJJ black belt. The room includes hobbyists, competitors, newer students and people who just love getting rounds in. That mix matters. A traveller can usually find someone close enough in size, pace and experience to get useful training without having to prove anything.

The academy also has a track record of welcoming guests from abroad. One recent example was Monica Allen from Fulcrum Jiu Jitsu Academy visiting Mizfits, which is exactly the kind of exchange that makes BJJ travel worth it. You train, you meet people, and the city feels a little less like a postcard.

Who should book a drop-in BJJ session in Split?

Drop-in training is best for people who already have some experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, submission grappling, judo, wrestling or MMA. All levels are welcome, but it helps if you tell the coach where you are honestly at. White belt with two months of training is fine. Purple belt on a work trip is fine. A competitor cutting weight before an event is fine too, as long as the room knows what you need.

Travellers who want to keep rolling while visiting Split

BJJ, No-Gi and grappling students looking for local rounds

Competitors who want a sharp but friendly training room

Beginners who want to try training while in town, with advance notice

If you are following competition formats such as AJP Tour or ADCC, you will feel at home with the grappling-first attitude. If you are just trying not to lose timing during a holiday, that is a good reason too.

Where is Mizfits Jiu Jitsu & Grappling Academy in Split?

Mizfits trains at 114. brigade 12, Split. The academy is based in the city, so it is practical for visitors staying in Split, passing through the ferry port area, or spending a few days between islands and mainland Croatia.

The new Mizfits space was built for serious mat time, with a large tatami area and room for grappling sessions, seminars and club training. If you want a better sense of the facility, read more about the Mizfits sports hall in Split.

Bring clean training gear, flip-flops or slides for walking off the mat, water, and a normal training attitude. If you need to borrow something, ask before you arrive. We can sometimes help, but nobody wants to hunt for a spare rashguard five minutes before class.

How do you book a drop-in class at Mizfits?

To book a drop-in BJJ or grappling class at Mizfits, contact Ivo on +385 91 616 0880 before training. Send your name, belt or experience level, preferred training style and the dates you are in Split. If you are coming with a group, say that too.

You can also explore the wider Mizfits site for current club updates, including the English BJJ classes in Split category and the older note that guests are welcome at Mizfits BJJ Academy Split.

Training while travelling is a small thing that can change the whole trip. You get a sweat, a few rounds, maybe a coffee recommendation from someone who actually lives here, and then Split feels different on the walk back.

FAQ: Drop-in BJJ in Split

Do I need to book before coming to Mizfits?

Yes. Please contact the academy before arriving. Drop-ins are welcome, but advance contact helps the coach place you in the right session and confirm the current training time.

Can beginners join a drop-in session?

Beginners can ask about joining, but tell us your experience level clearly before coming. If you have never trained BJJ or grappling before, we may point you toward a beginner-friendly class instead of a harder sparring session.

Should I bring Gi or No-Gi gear?

Bring both if you have room in your bag. If not, message us first and ask what is planned for the day you want to train. Clean rashguard, shorts, gi and belt are the usual safe choices.

Where is the academy located?

Mizfits Jiu Jitsu & Grappling Academy is located at 114. brigade 12, Split. Contact Ivo on +385 91 616 0880 before training so you get the right time and any arrival details.

Keep rolling while visiting Split

If you are visiting Split and want to keep your BJJ or grappling game sharp, come train with Mizfits. Contact Ivo on +385 91 616 0880, check the class option that fits your trip, and step onto the mat with the local crew.

Mizfits BJJ Academy is running a teen summer camp in Split from July 1 to September 1, 2026. Training is three times a week — Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:00 pm — at the new gym on 114. brigade 12, Split. The camp is open to teenagers aged 13 to 15. No prior experience in martial arts is required. The first 10 to sign up pay €40. Full price is €50 for the entire two-month camp.

Dates: July 1 – September 1, 2026

Schedule: Mon / Wed / Fri at 8:00 pm

Ages: 13–15 (complete beginners welcome)

Location: 114. brigade 12, Split, Croatia

First 10 sign-ups: €40. Full price: €50 for the whole camp.

When and where do the sessions take place?

The camp runs from July 1 through September 1. Three evenings a week, always at 8:00 pm. The gym is Mizfits’ new 330 m² facility with 200 m² of roll mats. Plenty of space to move without crowding.

That works out to roughly 24 to 26 sessions over two full summer months. Last year’s teen program participants covered the basics in about that many sessions and moved into the regular teen group by September. Not a marketing pitch. It actually happened.

Does my teenager need any prior experience?

No. The camp starts from zero. Brazilian jiu-jitsu is built on technique and leverage, not on strength or size. That makes it accessible for teenagers who have never trained a martial art before. Everyone in the group begins at the same level and moves at their own pace.

Worth knowing: most teens who walk in with zero experience are evenly matched with each other in the first few weeks. There’s no embarrassing gap where one kid clearly knows what they’re doing and the rest don’t. That usually changes fast, but it’s a decent starting point.

What will teens learn at the camp?

The program covers BJJ fundamentals adapted for the age group: breakfalls and movement on the mat, controlling positions, escaping bad positions, and basic submissions. Every session includes controlled sparring where participants apply what they’ve learned against a live training partner.

BJJ is a good sport for the 13–15 age group because technique genuinely levels the playing field. A teenager who learns positional control well can hold their own against a physically bigger or stronger training partner. At an age when the physical gap between peers is often huge, that actually matters.

Why a structured camp rather than a free summer?

A free summer is great. It also tends to disappear quietly between a phone screen and the couch. Three sessions a week give enough structure to keep momentum, while still leaving plenty of time for everything else.

There’s no team ranking on the mat. No ekip sport where you’re immediately visible as the weakest link. Progress in BJJ is individual and measurable, and teenagers at this age tend to respond to that. Last year’s teen program started with seven complete beginners. By September that group had become a steady crew that still trains together today.

How much does the teen BJJ summer camp cost?

€50 for two full months of training. The first 10 to sign up pay €40. No registration fee, no extras. For reference, that’s less than one standard adult membership for the same period. A gi (kimono) is not required at the start — comfortable training clothes are fine for the first sessions.

Frequently asked questions about the teen BJJ camp

Can my teenager come for a trial session first?

Yes. Every new participant gets a free trial session before committing. Contact Gogi at +38591250585 or via Instagram DM at @mizfits_jiujitsu to set one up.

Is BJJ safe for teenagers?

BJJ has a lower injury rate in training than most contact team sports. At teen sessions, the coach controls sparring intensity and pairs participants by size and experience. Injuries happen in any sport, but they’re uncommon when training is properly supervised.

Do parents need to be there during sessions?

No, but they’re welcome. There’s seating for spectators in the gym. Most parents drop their kids off and leave. A fair number end up staying once they see how the sessions run.

Can training continue after the camp ends?

Yes. Depending on progress and interest, participants can continue in the regular teen group or move into the adult beginner class. For anyone who wants to eventually compete, AJP Tour runs events across the region throughout the year. Enrollment for 2026 at Mizfits is open.

How to sign up for the teen BJJ summer camp in Split

Contact Gogi at +38591250585 or via Instagram DM at @mizfits_jiujitsu. Spots are filled in order of registration. The first 10 secure the €40 rate; the rest go at €50. Group size is kept deliberately small — more coaching attention per participant.

This camp is the continuation of a program Mizfits first ran in summer 2024. The group that came out of it still trains. This year the camp moves into a new 330 m² gym with a tighter structure and more space. OSS! 💪

Written by: Gordan Šabić, club secretary at Mizfits Jiu Jitsu and assistant coach (BJJ purple belt). Head coach and hall manager: Ivo “Frusta” Vatavuk, BJJ black belt promoted by Roger Gracie.

We rent out training slots in a 330 m² sports hall at Ravne Njive in Split, a few minutes’ walk from Kaufland. The hall has two separate mat areas of 100 m² each on professional roll tatami, two sides of an MMA cage fence, two rowing ergometers, a stationary bike, and pull-up bars. It works well for martial arts, yoga, pilates, functional training, and group fitness programs. Slots available from 20 May 2026. Pricing depends on the time of day (morning, afternoon, evening). To book, call Ivo Vatavuk on +385 91 616 0880.

At a glance

330 m² newly fitted space at Ravne Njive, near Kaufland

200 m² of professional roll tatami split into two 100 m² mat areas

Two sides of an MMA cage fence

Conditioning equipment: two rowing ergometers, stationary bike, pull-up bars

Changing rooms and two full bathrooms with showers

Morning, afternoon, and evening slots available

Why this hall

The hall opened in May 2026 and is one of the few spaces in Split genuinely set up for serious martial arts training. Professional roll tatami is not the same thing as school gym mats. It absorbs falls, stays put under footwork, and holds up through a full day of use without losing surface. The MMA cage fence, set into two corners, lets you work against the fence, which is standard in modern wrestling, BJJ, judo randori, and MMA training. In Split, that kind of setup outside a club’s own space is rare.

The hall was built and equipped by Mizfits Jiu Jitsu, a club that has been running classes in Split since 2023 under Ivo Vatavuk, a BJJ black belt promoted by Roger Gracie. We built the gym we wished existed here. Part of the schedule stays free and we open those slots to other clubs, coaches, and groups.

What fits in 330 m²

The space is divided so two groups can train at the same time without getting in each other’s way.

The main mat area (100 m²) handles technique drilling, sparring rounds, and group classes of up to around 20 people at once. The second mat area of the same size has one corner with the MMA cage fence, so it works for cage work, positional sparring, and any training that calls for a confined space.

The conditioning area sits off the mats. Two rowing ergometers, a stationary bike, and a pull-up rig are already in place. The plan before the end of 2026 is to add a small rack of kettlebells and free weights for clubs that want to combine mat training with conditioning work in the same session.

The changing rooms have benches and coat hooks, and the two shower bathrooms mean a group of 30 people can get ready and clean up between back-to-back sessions.

Sports and activities the hall actually works for

Martial arts are the obvious fit. The tatami and cage are sized for judo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, grappling, MMA, wrestling, and sambo. Boxing and kickboxing clubs use the space for pad work, positional drills, and conditioning without worrying whether the floor holds.

The tatami is equally good under yoga, pilates, and functional training. The surface is warm, soft enough for kneeling and floor work, firm enough not to compress under load. A few yoga and mobility instructors who trialled the space before opening said it works better than regular mats because it does not slide.

The hall is also available for personal trainers, physios working with recreational athletes, and corporate group training sessions.

Timeslots and pricing

Pricing depends on which part of the day you book.

Morning slots (before 14:00) are the most affordable because demand is lower. They suit seniors’ fitness groups, morning yoga classes, and one-on-one sessions. Afternoon slots (14:00 to 17:00) are mid-range and often go to clubs working with children and teens after school. Evening slots (from 17:00 onward) are in highest demand and priced accordingly.

For exact pricing and the option of a long-term agreement (monthly or six-month fixed-slot contract), call Ivo on +385 91 616 0880. Regular users get a discount. General payment information is also on our memberships page.

Where the hall is

The hall is at Ravne Njive, one of Split’s most densely populated districts, a few minutes from Kaufland. Car access is good and parking nearby is not a problem even in the evenings. We send the exact address when you confirm a booking.

The location covers the city centre, Sukoišan, Lokve, Ravne Njive, Pujanke, Mejaše, and Split 3, and because it sits close to the main road it is easy to reach from Solin and Kaštela too. If you are visiting Split and need a place to train, you are welcome to drop by — more on that on our visit us page.

Who can rent the hall

Sports clubs and associations that need space for regular training or extra slots when their main gym cannot cover demand.

Coaches running private and group programs who need a professional surface.

Fitness instructors (yoga, pilates, functional training, mobility).

Organisers of seminars, camps, and workshops in combat sports or wellness.

Companies that want occasional sessions for employees.

How to book

Call or message +385 91 616 0880 (Ivo Vatavuk). When you first get in touch, let us know which timeslot you need, how many hours per week, what type of training you run, and how many people you bring. We will arrange a quick walk-through of the hall before signing any agreement.

For a single slot — a one-off session, a one-day seminar, or an open mat — get in touch at least 48 hours before.

FAQ — sports hall rental in Split

How much does it cost to rent a sports hall in Split?
Pricing depends on the day, timeslot, and contract length. Morning slots are considerably cheaper than evening ones. A fixed monthly contract always works out better than booking one-off sessions. Call +385 91 616 0880 with your preferred schedule and we will give you an exact quote.

Can two clubs train at the same time?
Yes. The hall is designed so the two 100 m² mat areas can run parallel sessions without one group disturbing the other. This is a common setup during morning slots.

What equipment is included in the rental?
The roll tatami, MMA cage fence, rowing ergometers, stationary bike, and pull-up bars are all included. Clubs bring their own pads, gloves, shin guards, and personal gear.

Can I run a seminar or small tournament in the hall?
Yes. The hall has already hosted seminars and private training days. For a one-off event, get in touch at least two weeks ahead so we can coordinate with regular users.

Who is behind the hall?
The hall was set up and equipped by Mizfits Jiu Jitsu, a club in Split since 2023. The club is a member of the Croatian Ju-Jitsu Federation and the Mavericks Jiu Jitsu affiliation.

Slots are filling up

The hall opened on 20 May 2026, and evening mid-week slots went to standing contracts within the first week. The best options right now are a morning slot (before 14:00) or a fixed afternoon weekend slot for youth training.

To book, call or message Ivo Vatavuk on +385 91 616 0880.

This week at Mizfits Jiu Jitsu Academy, we had the pleasure of welcoming Monica Allen, a black belt from Denver, Colorado and a member of Fulcrum Jiu Jitsu Academy.

Monica joined our members for training and shared some great rounds on the tatami. She also added a few fine details to the techniques that were the focus of today’s training, giving our members another useful perspective on the same positions.

We are always happy to welcome people from other academies, especially when they bring experience and good energy. These kinds of visits are a great part of Jiu Jitsu – training, hanging out and exchanging experience without overcomplicating things.

Thank you to Monica for visiting us, for the great training session and for the good company. The doors of Mizfits are always open to good people and Jiu Jitsu enthusiasts.

See you again on the tatami!

We returned from Sarajevo with another strong international performance and another confirmation that Mizfits is growing from tournament to tournament into a serious competition team. At the Submission Grappling Championship 9, a tournament that brought together 397 fighters from 31 clubs, our competitors won 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze.

We are especially happy that we were once again very close to the team podium and the award for the 3rd most successful club. That says a lot about the quality of our team’s performance and the continuity of work we are building month after month.

Daria Boduljak conquered both her division and the absolute once again

If one person defined this tournament from our perspective, it was without any doubt Daria Boduljak. Daria once again showed class, composure and determination, winning gold in her division and gold in the absolute division.

What makes her performance even more impressive is the fact that all of her wins in the group stage came by submission, confirming her dominance from the very first seconds of each match. That kind of performance also brought special recognition – Daria was once again selected among the top 3 fighters of the tournament, with the same number of points scored.

Results like that do not happen by accident. They are the product of hard work, discipline, composure and a level of competitive maturity that becomes more visible with every tournament.

A special moment for Mizfits – an all-club semifinal in the -66 kg division

One of the most special moments of the entire day came in the very tough and stacked Adult Male No-Gi / Beginner / -66 kg division. After successfully making their way through their sides of the bracket and winning their earlier rounds, two of our own fighters – Luka Elez and Josip Jurij Boduljak – met each other in the semifinal.

For the coaches, it was a truly special feeling. Seeing two of your own athletes, after everything they go through in training, meet each other at such a deep stage of the tournament is a moment that is not easily forgotten. It was not just an individual result, but confirmation of the work of the entire club.

Outstanding debuts and a big silver in the advanced division

Special mention also goes to Marin Vidan and Vice Radonić, who both had fantastic first appearances for our club. They showed courage, fighting spirit and character, leaving a very strong impression in Sarajevo.

Big praise also goes to Frane Mišetić, who won a silver medal in the Advanced -94 kg division. Competing and winning a medal in an advanced category always carries extra weight, and Frane showed with his performance that he can stand with serious opposition.

Heart, experience and another big step forward

Throughout the tournament, our fighters showed exactly what we want to build at Mizfits – courage, discipline, pressure when needed, patience when required, and the willingness to go all the way regardless of the opponent.

Some earned wins on points, some by submission, and some gained valuable experience through tough matches, but together they all contributed to Mizfits once again being one of the standout clubs of the tournament.

Sarajevo brought us medals, valuable experience and another confirmation that we are on the right path. Two golds, two silvers and one bronze are an excellent result, but perhaps even more important is the fact that the club continues to show more depth, quality and competitive maturity with every appearance.

Big congratulations to all of our fighters for what they showed, and especially to Daria Boduljak for an outstanding performance and a special individual recognition.

We keep moving forward, working, learning and growing. If Sarajevo showed one thing, it is that Mizfits definitely has something to say on the regional grappling scene.
